Don’t get me wrong; I used to be like everyone else and run to the market and grab a container of pre-made dressing. I understand how convenient it is, but I’m so much happier with homemade blue cheese dressing. This keto blue cheese salad dressing has an utterly rich, smooth, and has a tangy flavor just like you’re used to.
But, when you make homemade low carb keto blue cheese dressing, you are skipping out on all those processed ingredients that are just bad for you (and have added carbs). There is no question of what is in because you put the handful of ingredients together and made it yourself when you do it at home. Ingredients
Blue Cheese - You can use blue cheese crumbles or crumble your own from a block of cheese.
Mayo - Mayonaisse makes this rich and creamy.
Sour Cream - Sour cream gives a nice tang to the dressing.
Milk of choice - You can use unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk, half and half, or even heavy whipping cream to thin the dressing.
Garlic Powder - A bit of garlic powder gives this a lot of flavor.
Salt & Pepper - Since blue cheese is naturally salty you can add kosher salt and black pepper to taste.

Common Questions
How Was Blue Cheese Invented?
Just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to look up where blue cheese was invented. I’m not sure if it’s accurate or not, but supposedly there was a cheesemaker that had a little too much to drink. He had a cave that was moist and for cheese. While he had been drinking, he was eating a loaf of bread and forgot it behind when he left. Shockingly, when he returned, the bread had molded, and the cheese then turned into blue cheese. Whether it’s true or not, it’s kind of a neat story, and now people can enjoy blue cheese dressing with so many foods.
You’ll also be happy to know when you eat this low carb blue cheese dressing it doesn’t just taste good; you’ll get some nutrients too — Vitamin A, calcium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin B12, phosphorus, and protein.
What Does Blue Cheese Taste Like?
If you haven’t had blue cheese dressing before, you’ve been missing out. It’s a game-changer when it comes to many recipes! Blue cheese has a tangy flavor that’s a little bit salty and really creamy. It goes well with foods that have a vinegar base, vegetables, and salads. Anything you would put ranch dressing on is a good fit for blue cheese sauce too.
Is Store Bought Blue Cheese Dressing Keto?
It can be. Just watch for added sugar and other non-keto ingredients.
How Do You Store Keto Blue Cheese Dressing?
Put the blue cheese dressing in the refrigerator in a glass container with a lid. You could also use plastic too, but I prefer glass because it doesn’t hold in odors as plastic does. The homemade dressing will last 5-7 days if it’s kept in the cold refrigerator. Whenever you want some, just grab it and drizzle then refrigerate again.
How Can You Tell If Dressing Has Spoiled?
When blue cheese dressing has started to spoil, it will have a very strong pungent flavor that is unappealing. The color of the dressing may look strange too. Another strong indicator is that mold will begin to develop on the top of the dressing, sides of the container, and even on the lid. If you ever notice anything like this, then don’t eat it. Throw it out and quickly make a new batch.
