I love eating eggs for breakfast. They’re low carb, they’re easy to cook, and they’re filling as well. Not only that, but they take on flavors and ingredients so well! I swear that I can cook an egg recipe one day and make the same recipe again the next day, and it tastes like a totally different dish.

We tend to buy eggs in bulk from the store because I use them in a lot of recipes. From baking to breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes, there is always a need for eggs.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs – Use any type of eggs that you’d like. Farm fresh, cage free, you know it. They all cook and eat well.
  • Cream cheese – Adding in the cream cheese adds the perfect creamy texture.
  • Diced ham – It’s amazing how the ham adds the perfect salty flavor.
  • Shredded cheese – Choose your favorite type of shredded cheese and add it. I love using cheddar cheese.
  • Salt – Just a pinch of salt is all you need.
  • Pepper – This is optional but helps to enhance the flavors.

Variations

This egg dish is so versatile and easy to do! You’ll love how you can easily change up the flavors of an air fryer frittata.

  • Add bacon bits – If you don’t want to use home, switch it up and use bacon or bacon bits instead. Sprinkle in as many as you want!
  • Add more veggies – If you want to up the health factor, add in some onion, spinach, chopped bell pepper, diced tomato, mushroom, or any other vegetables that you’re craving.
  • Sausage – Another yummy protein that you can add is sausage. When you put pork in egg recipes, it adds great flavor because of the sodium.
  • Use fresh herbs – Stirring in fresh basil or chopped rosemary is a super simple way to add fresh taste!
  • Spices – Add some garlic powder, onion powder, or even a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Mexican – Mix in some taco seasoning, omit the ham, and then top your air fryer omelet bites with salsa, sour cream, fresh cilantro, and guacamole.
  • Mediterranean – Feta cheese, fresh dill, red peppers, and even kalamata olives are fun and interesting mix-ins.

Common Questions

What do egg bites taste like?

The great thing about this air fryer omelette recipe is that these little bites taste like mini omelets! Cooking the ingredients in the air fryer versus a pan also keeps the texture light and fluffy. You’ll find these air fryer omelette bites taste like little puffs of egg and cheesy clouds! (or at least that’s what my kids say!)

Can you use silicone muffin cups in an air fryer?

You can! You can use silicone molds or muffin cups in the air fryer without any issues. There are specific egg molds that work perfectly in the air fryer basket and area.

Can you reheat egg bites in the air fryer?

You can. Any leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer easily. They’ll take about 4 minutes to reheat and enjoy again.

How long are frozen egg bites good for?

If you make them and decide to add them to the freezer, this is the perfect way to save them for later. Just pop them in the freezer for up to 3 months of time.

Make sure to store them in an airtight container with a lid so that they don’t get freezer-burnt.
