Red Hot Cinnamon Gummies
When I was a kid I would eat handfuls of Red Hots until my mouth was on fire. Spicy cinnamon has been a favorite flavor ever since. When I found cinnamon oil I knew I had to use it in a batch of Red Hot Cinnamon Gummies. This sugar free version is one of my favorites! This easy recipe is low carb, keto, gluten free, grain free, sugar free, and Trim Healthy Mama friendly.

Gummies always make me feel like a kid. They are my favorite candy and one I really missed when I gave up sugar. Making sugar-free gummies at home is easier than I thought it would be and can be a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

At first, I used a tiny dropper but then I got impatient and tried to pour a few drops faster. Woah. My mouth was burning. But it was a good burn. These are really good. If you like spicy cinnamon just keep adding drops until your mouth is happy.
I use LorAnn Cinnamon Oil in these. You can either buy tiny bottles, small bottles, or an assortment of flavors. If you really like cinnamon the small bottles are the most economical. Remember that you only need a few drops for a recipe. The tiny dram bottles still have enough for 4 or 5 batches of gummies.
These are low carb, gluten free, grain free, sugar-free, and a THM FP. This recipe makes about 2 dozen gummies. You can double it to make more.

Ingredients in homemade gummies:
1 cups water
2 tbsp THM gentle sweet (or my blend of erythritol, stevia, and xylitol)
5-10 or more drops of cinnamon oil (to taste)
1-2 scoops of Better Stevia (or your favorite stevia), optional
3 tbsp gelatin (4 packets)
Food coloring (optional, I used a few drops of red)

Red Hot Cinnamon Gummies
Ingredients
- 1 cups water
- 2 tbsp Joy Filled Eats Sweetener (or see alternatives in recipe notes)
- 5-10 or more drops of cinnamon oil to taste
- 1-2 scoops stevia extract or your favorite stevia, optional
- 3 tbsp gelatin 4 packets
- red food coloring optional, I used a few drops
Instructions
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a small pot and heat over low to medium heat until very warm. TASTE IT. You can add more cinnamon oil or more sweetener (add stevia if you'd like). Tailor it to your taste buds.
- Slowly whisk in the gelatin until dissolved. At this point I pour it through a mesh sieve to strain out any pieces of gelatin that didn't dissolve. Pour into silicone molds and refrigerate until firm.

These Red Hot Cinnamon Gummies are such a fun and fiery twist on a childhood favorite! I love how you’ve turned the spicy cinnamon flavor into a sugar-free, low-carb treat. The use of cinnamon oil really gives them that bold kick. The recipe is so simple, and it’s great to know that it’s gluten-free and Trim Healthy Mama friendly. I’m definitely going to try making these for my next snack. The tips about the LorAnn Cinnamon Oil are helpful too—I’ll be sure to use just a few drops to avoid burning my mouth!
Kind of confused, how much is a scoop? recipe say 1-2 scoops of stevia extract but no measurement.
Most stevia comes with a tiny scoop that measures 1/32 of a teaspoon.
Can you use a cinnamon oil with sunflower oil in the ingredients, such as Frontier Organics? Might need more to get the flavor, but just wondering if the other oil might affect how the recipe comes out.
I think so but can’t guarantee it would work, sorry.
These were awesome, and my 8-year old loved them. I can’t believe how long I put off making them. They really were amazingly easy and extremely quick. Thanks so much!!!
I love sugar free cinnamon bears. For years now NO ONE sells them anymore. Not sure why. I do like this recipe, but it’s cinnamon Jello. What I love about cinnamon bears is the super-chewy texture that tries to rip out my fillings :). I assume there’s nothing I can do to add that.
When you add more and more gelatin you can taste it. I haven’t found a way to replicate that true super-chewy texture at home yet without ruining the flavor.
I’m so excited to try this as I have a weakness for cinnamon candied anything, but I’m wondering… as far as getting it to be chewier, what about using some Xanathan gum? It’s what they use in pretzels to give it a chewier texture and keto approved as a thickener 🙂
Great idea. LMK if you try!
When do you add the red food coloring? After gelatin dissolves ?
You can really just add it any time. I normally add it near the end.
I’ve made these a few times and so thrilled to see the recipe- one of my fav sweet treats!! My first batch was perfect, but I’ve had a bit of trouble with subsequent batches and hoped you might have a tip. The cinnamon oil does not evenly distribute amongst my bears. Obviously, we are mixing water and oil here 🙂 and I stir really well and try to pour quickly, but something isn’t working like my earlier batch where all the bears tasted hot. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
Hi Taryn, so excited to try making these! I was going to pick up some Silicon molds and realized they come with different size ml variations! Can you tell me what the above recipe will fill? Like 15, 5ml, pieces? And does 4 servings = 4 silicone trays of gummies? thanks so much for posting this!!!
The total volume for this is about 250 ml. So it will depend on the size of the tray you get. Just divide the number of pieces by 4 to get one serving.
I followed the recipe exactly, and ended up with jello, it didn’t even taste like gummies
Which gelatin did you use?
It is hard to get a real gummy texture at home without having them taste like gelatin. You may need to add more gelatin next time. Different brands can yield different results.
Can you use cinnamon extract instead of the oil? If you can how much?
No, I don’t think that would yield the right flavor.
What’s the texture of these? Are they more like the inside of a jelly bean or are they like gummy bears?
They are a little softer than gummy bears but firmer than jell-o. It is hard to get a true gummy consistency in a home kitchen.
They sound like the chewy cinnamon bears I love – even more than I love gummy bears – so yay! 🙂
Easy to make and tastes wonderful!
Can these ne made as a hard candy? My brother loves cinnamon candy and i usually make it for him, but he has been diagnosis with diabetes (he misses my candy) Thank you
Not this exact recipe but if you can find a sugar free hard candy recipe this oil could probably work.
Sugar free hard candy is isomalt, sucralose and water. You have to 320 degrees f vs 300 tho…Lorann also makes a mix.
Also if you want a firmer texture you need to add corn syrup, honey or agave and a bit of guar gum, and you’ll have gummies instead of jello.
Thanks for that info. I personally don’t use sucralose in my kitchen.
What is the best way to store these and keep them fresh? I just made my first batch and love them! Thank you.
Store them in the refrigerator.
i really want to make these but the two different sweeteners confuse me. I only have Truvia. would this be okay and would i need to use it twice like listed in the recipe?
Truvia should be fine. You can just use it in place of the first sweetener and then add a little more if the liquid doesn’t taste sweet enough before chilling.
