If an oatmeal cranberry cookie is your sweet treat of choice you must try my breakfast version! This cookie granola tastes just like your favorite dessert turned into a breakfast cereal!
This keeps really well in the fridge. Almost indefinitely. I found some in the back of the fridge about 6 months after making this and it was fine! It still tasted great. You can easily double or triple this recipe to make a big batch.
To make my cookie granola you can make cookie shapes before baking but you really don't have to. You can just spread the mixture on the cookie sheet.
It can be hard to find unsweetened dried cranberries but they are sold on Amazon or you can make your own with my sugar-free dried cranberries recipe. I also know someone who just washes regular sweetened dried cranberries to remove some of the sugar. I'm not sure how effective that is but if a little sugar is ok in your diet it might be a good option.

Thank you for this amazing recipe! It's fabulous!! I have a hard time not eating way more than a serving because it's so good! I subbed a generous 1/2 cup erythritol/monkfruit sweetener, added a bit of extra cinnamon and about 1/4 tsp apple pie spice. Also, I left the tray in the turned-off oven overnight so it would be crispy. It's perfect!

I love granola and this recipe is very yummy as well as super fast and easy to throw together.I can’t eat cranberries so I omitted them. I did however add chopped pecans and unsweetened coconut, because that’s what was in my favorite store bought sugar filled granola that I no longer eat. Thanks for all the great recipes!
disgruntled at the lie of this recipe says
this is not low carb. especially when using oats
Taryn says
Did you read this at all? I never said it was low carb. It is one of a handful of recipes on my blog that are for the Trim Healthy Mama diet. I'm sorry you are 'disgruntled at the lie of this recipe' but I never lied about it. I do have several low carb granolas you can find here: https://joyfilledeats.com/?s=granola just choose one that says low carb or keto in the title.
Alice says
Is there a sub for the egg white?
Taryn says
I haven't tested this with an egg replacement. I think you could just omit it.
Melissa says
I love this recipe! I eat 1/2 cup with almond milk as a cereal and it is so filling and keeps me going until lunch. I had trouble with the consistency of warm oatmeal THM style but this is perfect for me! Thanks so much! This has really helped me keep on track with my lifestyle change!!
Sue says
Could this be made in the microwave?
Taryn says
No, I don't think so. Stovetop would be better if you don't want to use the oven.
Kimberly says
Can this be eaten as cereal as a 1 cup serving with almond milk? Is that an xo?
Taryn says
Yes, I think that would still be an E.
Mary Kay says
Could I bake these as granola bars? I have the Pampered Chef snack bar baking mold. Do you think they would hold together? Thanks!
Taryn says
Ooo that's a great idea. I would add an extra egg white. Let me know how they turn out!
Jessica says
Can this be baked like regular granola? Dump and go😉?
Taryn says
If you add the cranberries at the beginning they can burn. I don't recommend it.

We've been following THM eating now for 2.5 months. My husband missed having granola. Thanks for sharing this recipe so he could have granola for breakfast. 🙂
Rhonda says
I missed the number of servings in this recipe
Taryn says
It is at the top of the recipe card. This has 8 servings. Each serving is about 1/2 a cup.
Melissa says
Does this make a chewy granola or a crunchy granola?
Taryn says
This one is a bit chewy. If you chill it (it keeps in the fridge for months) it gets crisper.
Melissa says
Ok, thanks!
Julie says
I wonder if I could sub raisins for the cranberries since I don’t have unsweetened on hand. Raisins don’t have addd sugar, just natural sugar. Does that matter? I’m new to THM. Thanks.
Taryn says
To my knowledge, raisins have too much natural sugar to be allowed. You can just leave out the cranberries.
Jill says
Does this need to be refrigerated or can it be stored in the pantry?
Taryn says
It can last a couple weeks in the pantry. It lasts months in the fridge.
Elizabeth says
Could I leave out the molasses?
Or is it crucial?
TIA
Taryn says
You can leave it out. It just gives a bit of a brown sugar flavor.
Patricia says
I just made this and I found that almost half of the cranberries are black and burnt. Any suggestions
Taryn says
Oh no! Next time you could add them halfway through. Could your oven run hot?
Lisa says
I have frozen unsweetened cranberries. How can I incorporate those in the recipe instead of dried? I know it might be a little more “ wet” due to the frozen cranberries. Thanks!
Taryn says
I would bake them on low heat until they are dry. I don't think they will work without doing that step first.
Kari says
Can I eat a 1 cup serving for an E?
Taryn says
That should be fine.
Kari says
I can’t find the unsweetened cranberries, so I’m going to try cherries! I hope it tastes good!!
Kari says
What’s a serving size? This look yummy! What if we don’t have the butter flavored coconut oil? What would we sub?
Taryn says
You can use regular coconut oil. A serving size is 1/2 a cup.
