Keto Spices
These keto spices are the best keto-friendly seasonings to help you save money and stick to your diet. Homemade spice blends are cheaper, taste better, and usually skip the hidden sugar found in many store-bought mixes.

My entire family agrees that homemade spices are so much better than any current supermarket seasonings, which is why I prefer to make my own blend any day of the week. Plus, they basically have zero carbs and calories. Fair warning – it’ll be hard to pick which one to start with out of all the different seasonings below. Here are the 13 homemade keto spice blends I rely on week after week to keep dinner flavorful, simple, and completely on track!
1. Seasoning Salt Recipe

You can make a big batch of this or keep it simple with a smaller batch from the start. It’s one of those quality seasonings that tastes great on any protein, eggs, and vegetables, and adds a burst of flavor to keto fries, too. A lot of seasonings out there have hidden sugars, but not this one.
2. Keto Fajita Seasoning

If you want great flavor for your next Mexican night, this is it. It instantly turns bland food into delicious dishes, and I love using it on pork, chicken, steak, or veggies. All you need are a few simple ingredients to get started.
3. Best Homemade Chili Seasoning Recipe Mix

This particular blend is super simple to make, and it’s one of my favorite seasonings to add taste to my chili recipe. It just has all the right spices for any type of chili.
4. Mediterranean Seasoning

This is one of those low-carb spices that elevates just about anything you put it on. It’s great for chicken, but you can also use it on roasted vegetables. It’s made with dried herbs, lemon zest, black pepper, and salt to deliver the perfect flavor to balance and complement your low-carb lifestyle.
5. Southwest Spice Blend

This Southwest Spice Blend is my go-to whenever I want to bring smoky, bold Tex-Mex flavor to a dish without reaching for anything store-bought.
6. Chermoula Spice Blend Recipe

This African-inspired blend works well as a dry rub for meats or in a dip for veggies when mixed with plain yogurt. If you’re new to making your own spice blends, start with this one!
7. Homemade Taco Seasoning

Out of all the sugar-free seasoning options on this list, this is the one I make the most often. I don’t meal prep much, but I will cook 6-8 pounds of ground meat at a time into taco meat to keep in the freezer. It is a lifesaver on nights I’m too tired to cook.
8. Blackened Seasoning

This creates a flavorful smoky crust on chicken, fish, or steak. Inspired by the bold flavors of New Orleans, this homemade mix nails that classic Cajun flavor profile without any of the junk hiding in store-bought versions. It is a blend of garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, basil, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. This could really be an all-purpose seasoning to use all year long.
9. Italian Seasoning Substitute Recipe

Running out of Italian seasoning mid-recipe is the worst, but this copycat means you’ll never have to stop what you’re doing and make a grocery run again. Add to chicken thighs, olive oil, as a topper for cauliflower rice – you name it.
10. Chicken Taco Seasoning Recipe

Taco Tuesday (or Wednesday, or Thursday — no judgment here) just got a serious upgrade with this taco seasoning. It’s been my go-to since I’ve been on the ketogenic diet, and I swear that it’s helped me with my weight loss cravings because it’s flavorful and satisfying. Of all the keto-friendly spice blends on the list, this is probably the one I use the most.
11. All Purpose Seasoning Recipe

This All Purpose Seasoning Recipe is the one blend I’d tell every home cook to make first. It enhances the natural flavor of your food without overpowering it. I love that it works on savory dishes, in salad dressings, and even as a straight swap for table salt.
12. Bagel Seasoning

This everything bagel seasoning blend is amazing in dip, sprinkled on roasted veggies, or used to top keto breads. It is a combination of poppy seeds, white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, dried minced onion, dried minced garlic, and coarse salt.
13. Baking Spice Mix

This great mix of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves is what your keto baked goods have been missing. Five simple spices come together to create a blend that is great in Keto Banana Bread and Keto Coffee Cake Muffins — and once that warm, sweet aroma fills your kitchen, you’ll wonder how you ever baked without it.
Remember, to keep these spices fresh, they all need to be stored in an airtight container in your pantry or spice cabinet. That way, they stay fresh and ready to use for your low-carb meals!
