Ingredients

  • Joy Filled Eats Sweetener – See the recipe card for options for other sweeteners that you can use as well. I prefer my own homemade sweetener which is a blend of sugar alcohols and stevia.
  • Boiling water – You can heat this in a small saucepan on the stove.
  • Extract of your choice – Choose from vanilla, maple, almond, etc.

How to Make this Keto Coffee Syrup Recipe

Step One: Mix the ingredients together until everything is melted well. Once you have everything mixed together well, all that is left to do is to pour it into your coffee and stir. Take a sip, and decide if you want to add more flavor or not. It’s as simple as that!

Storage

I store my sugar free coffee syrup recipe in a mason jar in the refrigerator. It keeps for weeks this way. If you prefer, you can leave it at room temperature for 2-3 days instead.

Variations

  • Vanilla – Each time you make this, you can change the extract that you use. Vanilla extract is popular, but don’t forget that almond extract is pretty delicious as well. Once you change the extract, you just follow the rest of the recipe card to finish making the keto sweetener – it’s as simple as that.
  • Add cinnamon – You can add warmth to your favorite drink by turning this into a homemade sugar-free cinnamon syrup. Don’t forget to use cinnamon sticks to stir for even more flavor! (This is a fun addition to do during the holiday months, as cinnamon is just something that people typically associate with that time of year!)
  • Brown sugar sweetener – Swap in a brown sugar substitute if you prefer using regular brown sugar in your coffee.

Common Questions

What can I use to sweeten my coffee on keto?

This homemade keto syrup is just what you need!  A lot of people love to have a morning coffee but forget that once they’re doing low carb or low calorie, that basically cuts out the option for pouring in regular coffee creamers from the store.

Using this sugar-free keto syrup not only keeps everyone in check on their keto lifestyle but also adds sweetness and flavor without worry and guilt.

And don’t forget that you can change the flavor so it never gets old by adding different extracts each time.

What is the best alternative to sugar in coffee?

This simple sugar substitute is a perfect sub for regular sugar. It’s a great way to add sweetness to even bulletproof coffee while still keeping carbs and calories low.

How do I store sugar free coffee syrup?

Once you make this, you can add the sugar free syrup to an airtight container and store it in the fridge. Then, once you’re ready to use it, you can stir and add it to your favorite drinks or recipes. Heat it back up slowly and then let it cool down a bit before using. Notes

NUTRITION: the nutrition box is pretty empty because this basically has 0 calories, 0 carbs, and 0 fat!
To Store: the coffee syrup needs to be refrigerated until it’s time to use it. Should be kept in an airtight container and will last up to 1 month. If some of the sweetener is recrystallized don’t worry, it will melt again in hot coffee.
To Freeze: pour the syrup into a container that is safe for the freezer, then it will last between 6-8 months. Defrost before you are ready to use.
Notes on Sweeteners:
I use my own blend of xylitol, erythritol, and stevia in my recipes. This is twice as sweet as sugar. It is comparable to Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet and Truvia.
To sub in Swerve or Lakanto Monk Fruit use 1.5 times the amount of sweetener called for.

To sub in Pyure or Trim Healthy Mama Super Sweet use half the amount of sweetener called for.

Substitutions will work in most recipes. They may not work in candies, such as caramel.

    1. What type of monk fruit do you have? Is it pure monk fruit extract (very concentrated, like stevia) or is it mixed with another sweetener (example: Lakanto also has erythritol)?

  3. I made a half batch of this using a monk fruit blend. I think my vanilla spilled out to be a little more but its delicious!! All the other sugar free sweeteners taste nasty to me. Do you have any idea how to make a caramel flavored syrup? Maybe there is caramel flavoring?5 stars

It’s so fantastic! In syrup form, in blends in smoothly and really has a nice even taste as opposed to me just using monkfruit in my coffee.

  7. Thank you for this! I’ve been my cinnamon dolce coffee sugar free syrup. This is perfect with vanilla and cinnamon added.
