Ingredients

  • Butter – I use salted butter. The tiny bit of salt enhances the flavor of the chocolate.
  • Chocolate Chips – Use very dark chocolate chips or sugar-free chocolate chips to keep the net carbs down.
  • Milk of choice – Carton unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk both work.
  • Espresso – Or very strong coffee. Brew regular coffee with twice the grinds.
  • Collagen – Optional, but recommended. Collagen adds protein and creaminess. You can sub in unflavored protein powder if you prefer.
  • Vanilla extract – Vanilla enhances the other flavors.
  • Peppermint extract – Peppermint extract is powerful stuff and not to be underestimated. Start off with the amount in the recipe and taste to adjust the peppermint flavor.
  • Sweetener – You can use any keto diet sweetener you enjoy. The chocolate chips add a little sweetness, so it’s best to taste and adjust the first time you make this.

How to Make a Keto Peppermint Mocha

1️⃣ Add Ingredients to the Blender

👉 Tip: The key is the coffee, and the almond or coconut milk needs to be very warm when they go into the blender with all of the other ingredients so the chocolate melts!

2️⃣ Blend Until Frothy

Pour the mocha mixture into your favorite mug. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Variations

  • Dairy-free – If you need this to be 100% dairy free, simply sub coconut oil for the butter. You can use either unsweetened almond or coconut milk…both are yummy!
  • White chocolate – Swap in sugar-free white chocolate chips for a white peppermint mocha.

Common Questions

What if I don’t have a blender?

Don’t have a big high-powered blender? You could also use a single serve blender, like a Nutribullet or even an immersion blender for this! A milk frother can make foam as well.

Can I make this iced?

Absolutely. You can make it as directed and then chill in the fridge until cold. Pour over ice cubes and enjoy!

To make it ready to drink immediately, use cold ingredients and swap in cocoa powder for the chocolate chips. You will have to adjust the sweetener to taste.

  1. The perfect coffee house drink without having to go to the specialty store. This looks so good for being sugar free and can’t wait to give it a try when we get a little cold too. I’m in Florida so, like you, out cold days are few and far between. Never mind, I’ll just crank up the air and have some ASAP.5 stars
