This just might be the perfect drink. Not only is it low calorie and good for your immune system, but it also has the best flavor as well. You can indeed buy this from your local tea shop or coffee hangout, but having all the ingredients on hand and making it at home is one of my guilty pleasures.

I love the earthy taste that matcha recipes have, and I think that this drink is also helpful in terms of weight loss. Since it cuts out processed sugars and tons of added calories and carbs, I find it to be a great way to curb cravings while still giving my sweet tooth exactly what it wants.

If you’re new to matcha drinks, get ready to love this one. The coconut milk adds a nice hint of coconut flavoring, and it has less caffeine than other drinks out there. It’s my favorite way to start the day and feel refreshed and healthy.

If you’re a fan of yummy drink recipes, try this Keto Chai Tea Mix. It’s great for a low-carb option, loaded with flavor.

Ingredients

Joy Filled Eats Sweetener – This is my natural go-to sweetener

Matcha tea powder – A fine powder made from green tea leaves with a vibrant green color. Over time you may find a brand you prefer. Any you enjoy is fine. You can buy your favorite brand.

Hot water – You can heat this on the stove or in the microwave.

Unsweetened coconut milk – This will be in a carton, not a can. For a richer texture and more coconut taste you can use canned coconut milk.

Vanilla extract – For flavor. Vanilla naturally enhances the other flavors.

There are two options for making this simple latte recipe – both the stove-top recipe and the microwave recipe are listed below.

Step One:  To make it in the microwave, add the matcha powder and the sweetener to a mug.

Step Two: Add the hot water and stir. You can add more to taste if desired.

Step Three: Pour into a mug and add toppings.

Variations

Use whole milk – Milk is a great alternative to coconut milk and can easily be swapped in or out. You can also use other plant-based milk to make vegan matcha lattes that are still delicious but vegan-friendly. Any choice of milk will work for this homemade matcha latte recipe.

Other milks – You can also use oat milk to make a oat milk matcha latte.

Use a different natural sweetener – I’m a big fan of my sweetener, but you can use maple syrup or even honey for this hot matcha latte recipe.

Make an iced version – It’s not hard at all to create the perfect iced matcha latte. You would make this green tea drink just like you normally would, but at the end, just add ice and let it cool. Top the creamy iced matcha latte with whipped cream, if desired.

Add flavoring – Adding flavored syrups can be a fun way to change this regular green tea drink into something unique. Strawberry syrup would make the best strawberry matcha latte!

  1. Instead of using the sweetener and vanilla…try making this with vanilla cream liquid stevia. It is so very good
