With just two main ingredients and less than 15 minutes of cook time needed, everyone will be picking up these crispy and tender sprouts and popping them in their mouth! This recipe is gluten-free, keto, paleo, whole30, and low carb.
Using your air fryer to cook brussel sprouts is a great idea. I know this, because it works in my house every time. There's just something different about the taste and texture when you air fry veggies, and my kids can attest to that since they tell me all the time.
We make these in batches and I love how easy the prep time is. Since we buy a lot of frozen veggies to keep our freezer full, this simple side dish is one that we make quite a bit.
Being able to pour the frozen brussel sprouts directly into the air fryer basket means that I don't have to spend time prepping or cleaning a baking sheet, either!
I promise you that the instructions are simple, the flavor is delicious, and this easy air fry recipe is the perfect way to get everyone in the house to eat more vegetables.

Ingredients
Frozen brussel sprouts - Pick up a bag or two at the store. They're always super affordable, trimmed, and ready to cook.
Olive oil - You can also use coconut oil if you'd prefer.
Sea salt and black pepper - Just a pinch of each is all you need to season the sprouts.
How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Brussel Sprouts
Get ready to see how easy it is to make air fryer brussel sprouts! One of the best ways to cook veggies, in my opinion.
Step One: Preheat the air fryer to 400 and spray the basket with cooking spray.
Step Two: Add the frozen brussel sprouts. Drizzle with olive oil, toss, and sprinkle with salt and pepper
Step Three: Cook for 13-15 minutes, until roasted and tender.
Variations
Add bacon - Add in some crumbled bacon for an extra salty flavor. I've even saved my bacon grease and used that as the oil for this recipe instead of vegetable oil. Talk about an awesome flavor enhancer.
Parmesan cheese - Once the brusssel sprouts are done cooking in the oven, sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top and serve. I let the kids add this on themselves and they really like that.
Lemon juice - A squeeze of lemon juice on top adds a nice citrus kick.
Everything bagel seasoning - You can really keep it simple and just sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning on them to add in the salt, pepper, and other flavors quickly.
Red pepper flakes - For those of you who like spice, add some red pepper flakes to your serving.
Garlic powder - Just a few shakes of garlic pepper is perfect for garlic fans. It's an easy addition that pops with every bite.
Common Questions
Can I use fresh brussel sprouts?
This air fryer recipe cook times and directions are written for frozen, but if you have fresh that you want to use, use them. You will need to adjust your cooking time in the air fryer but that's about it.
Why are the brussel sprouts not crisp?
Be sure that you're not overcrowding the air fryer basket. They need to be in a single layer for the hot air to circulate and crisp them up. Just spread them out evenly once you add to the air fryer basket and that should be fine.
Do I need to half the brussel sprouts before adding them to the air fryer?
Nope, not at all! The frozen brussels are typically smaller in size than what you'd buy fresh. Since you're cooking them for almost 15 minutes, the hot air will circulate and cook the entire brussel without issues. No need to worry about halving, prepping, or anything.
How do you store leftover brussel sprouts?
Storage is simple! Just add the leftovers to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. When you're ready to reheat and eat, you can use your air fryer to warm them back up or pop them in the microwave for a short time.
Just keep in mind that when you reheat them in the microwave, they're not going to crisp back up as they reheat. They'll have more of a "steamed" texture with this method, whereas the air fryer may give back a little bit of that crisp.
