Today is National Iced Tea Day. What better day could there be than this to post these cute little Passion Tea Lemonade Homemade Gummies? Tazo Passion Tea is my favorite iced tea. With such a great flavor and color I knew it would be perfect for gummies.
Homemade Gummies
My kids have been on a gummy kick. As soon as I make a batch they devour them. Since they are infinitely healthier than packaged fruit snacks I'm happy to make them once a week. They last about a day. That's my gummy limit. I normally hide some in the back of the fridge for myself for snacks too.
These are low carb, gluten free, grain free, dairy free, and sugar free, and a THM FP. This recipe makes about 3-4 dozen gummies depending on the size of your silicone mold. I made half into the tiny cup shapes and half into half circles (using a silicone cake pop mold). You can half or double it.
If you'd like a recipe for a Passion Tea Lemonade to drink check out the recipe here at The Fabuless Wife. I saw her pin floating around Pinterest a couple weeks ago and that put this great combination to the front of my mind. Which combined with my kids gummy craze inspired these gummies. And the tea bags starting at me from my pantry helped. I always have these in the house.
Homemade Gummies Ingredients:
2 cups boiling water
1 Tazo Iced Passion Tea tea bag (or 5 regular size tea bags)
2 tablespoon lemon juice
⅓ cup Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet (or my sweetener blend)
7 tbsp gelatin (10 packets)
Directions:
Pour the boiling water over the tea bag in a large glass measuring cup. Steep for 5 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and sweetener. Slowly whisk in the gelatin until dissolved. The tea should be warm enough to dissolve the gelatin. If it is not you can microwave it to warm it up again. At this point, I pour it through a mesh sieve to strain out any pieces of gelatin that didn’t dissolve. Pour into silicone molds and refrigerate until firm.

am not a lemonade fan. what can I add in place of the lemon juice? I can't wait to try this!
Taryn says
You can just replace it with water.
Susan says
Love these!!! Thank you so much for experimenting and sharing!!
Joanie Christopher says
The taste is so good, but the consistency is basically like jello. Do yours get more “fruit snacky”?
Taryn says
The brand of gelatin you use may make a difference. It is hard to get them truly gummy without tasting the gelatin. Next time try an extra tablespoon of gelatin.
chan wing lam says
hihi is there any substitute of gelatin for vegan ?? is it gonna be tasted like the same?
Taryn says
No, sorry.
Shannon says
Do you know if you can use the "just gelatin" from THM in place of the gelatin packets?
Taryn says
Yes, any gelatin will work.
Diana says
What sweetener can be substituted for yours?
Taryn says
Pretty much any sweetener. You can just add it to taste.
Marilyn says
Approximately how many gummies does one batch make?
Taryn says
This varies a lot based on your mold. About 2-3 dozen with the molds I use. If you use a gummy bear mold you'd probably get a hundred.
Sara says
Thank you for this recipe! I’m excited to try it.

These turned out great! I added baobab powder to mine.
KRISTY METZGER says
Hi Taryn. How long can they stay in the fridge or can they be frozen? Thanks.
Taryn says
I've kept them in the fridge for a couple weeks. I'm not sure if they could freeze.
Diane Keller says
Where did you purchase the molds??
Taryn says
Amazon. I just checked and the ones I have aren't listed anymore but there are lots of different options: http://amzn.to/2jt1fJz

it is hard to read your recipe ingredient list, with the shares buttons on the left hand side of the page. They cover the amounts needed.
Taryn says
Hi Norma, on the bottom of each post is a printable version of the recipe. They should be easier to read. Are you on mobile, desktop, or a tablet? On mobile and my laptop I can see the amounts.

I love your site, but having a hard time navigating to the recipes I've saved
Taryn says
Hi Ruth, if you are on mobile you just need to wait a few seconds and then click the green "read more" button. It takes a few seconds to load so if you scroll down quickly it's easy to miss it and go too far.
