Preheat the air fryer to 400 and spray the basket with cooking spray.
Rub the chicken both under and on top of the skin with the butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper on the skin and inside the cavity.
Cook for 55 min or until the internal temperature is 160 when checked with a meat thermometer.
To Reheat: Warm the chicken in the microwave covered with a paper towel. It only takes a few minutes to reheat. To Freeze: After the chicken has cooled down, remove it from the bones. Place in a freezer bag or any other container that is freezer safe. It will last for several months in the freezer. Reheat after thawing.
