Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
Put the almonds and sweetener in the blender and blend until finely ground. Add the other ingredients and blend until smooth.
Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour about ¼ of the batter into the waffle iron. If you have a smaller waffle iron you will use less batter. Just pour enough to cover ¾ of the bottom grill. Cook until golden brown.
To make crisper waffles let the waffles cool and then toast in the toaster.
Notes
Fluffy Belgian Waffles: for the fluffiest waffles whip your egg whites separately and then fold them in after blending the batter. To Reheat: you can reheat the waffles in the microwave or in the toaster. They will be softer in the microwave and crispier in the toaster. To Freeze: flash freeze the waffles for 1-3 hours on a baking sheet and add to a freezer bag or container. They won’t stick together and you can grab what you want. Substitutions: you can sub in 2 cups of almond flour for the slivered almonds if you prefer.Notes on Sweeteners:
