Here is my annual look back over the past year. I shared 125 new posts. (Not bad considering I was pregnant the first 9 months of the year and then I had a newborn for the last 3). Almost all of those were new recipes. And these 12 were your favorite recipes.
I’d like to do an all-time favorite recipes post because there are several recipes that are in my top ten daily that are from 2016. Maybe I’ll do that in the beginning of March when I celebrate 2 years blogging here at Joy Filled Eats.
Low Carb Maple Bacon Crack
I wasn’t sure if these would be popular or not. Sweet + bacon is either a hit or a miss. I worked on a Maple Bacon Cupcake for awhile but I just couldn’t get it right. This Maple Bacon Crack was the hit after my miss with the cupcakes.
BBQ Bacon Cheddar Meatloaf
This is a favorite with my kids and it ended up being a favorite with all of you as well. Since it comes together pretty quickly you can make it for a weeknight dinner.
No Bake Cookie Dough Cheesecake
My favorite dessert of last summer. And maybe all of last year. I love the look of this with the three distinct layers. It freezes well (and tastes good right from the freezer) and it’s no bake! It may be the perfect dessert.
Turkey Bacon Ranch Pinwheels
These are such an easy snack or appetizer that my kids can make them themselves. I serve them when we do finger foods for dinner during sports on tv and holidays.
Homemade Little Debbie Fudge Brownies
My nostalgic side tends to take over when I’m pregnant and I crave comfort foods from growing up. Those packaged Little Debbie style brownies are near the top of the list. These are even better.
Spicy Chicken Empanadas with Cilantro Sour Cream
This recipe is perfect for entertaining. These empanadas freeze and reheat well so you can make them ahead of time.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies
A dense chocolate brownie topped with cookie dough? I am not surprised this made the list for 2017.
Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls
This may be the simplest recipe on my entire blog. Despite having only 3 ingredients these mini cheese balls will still wow your friends and family.
Easy Mexican Taco Casserole
After I had my baby in September, my friend, Anna asked if it was ok if she made my family one of my own recipes. Obviously, the answer was yes! I only post them because we love them. This was what she made us. And this has only 5 ingredients. I may be seeing a trend that my readers want easy. I want easy too so you’ll be seeing more easy recipes in 2018.
Five Minute Magic Cookies
Easy again! These really do take only five minutes but taste just like magic cookie bars.
Broccoli Cheese Nuggets
This is a great way to use up leftover veggies. You can sub in spinach, cauliflower, kale, etc. My kids love being able to eat with their fingers and I love getting extra veggies into their growing bodies.
Mini Mozzarella Stuffed Italian Meatloaves
Anything stuffed with cheese is always a success. These are another easy family-friendly main entree I’m happy to share from my family to yours.
Runners-up:
Here are a few recipes that I posted towards the end of 2017 that were super popular. If they had a little more time they would’ve bumped some of the above off the list.
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes
English Toffee Cappuccino Cookies
