This easy gummies recipe will remind you of those fabulous creamsicle ice pops you ate as a kid. Orange Creamsicle Gummies are easy to make and ready in under an hour.
Orange Creamsicle ice pops remind me of being a kid on a hot summer day. The orange ice outside and vanilla cream inside. I used to eat all the orange off before starting on the vanilla part.
I don't think my kids have ever had a creamsicle pop because they all pick chocolate anything given the choice but on occasion, I do prefer the orange and vanilla combo over chocolate.
How to Make this Easy Gummies Recipe
Making gummies is very easy! Just dissolve the gelatin and add the other ingredients. Pour into molds and let them set in the fridge. If you've ever made a box of Jell-O you can make these.
How long do these gummies take to set?
They set really fast in the fridge. I was taking pictures of them an hour after I started.
Which is better: orange oil or extract?
Orange oil works the best in this but you can use extract if you need to.
How many gummies does this make?
This recipe makes about 45 gummies depending on the size of your molds.
Ingredients for Creamsicle Gummies
- water
- cream (I used light cream)
- sweetener
- pure stevia powder
- orange oil OR orange extract
- vanilla extract
- gelatin
- fresh-squeezed orange juice (optional)
- food coloring (optional)
Can I Sub in Coconut Cream and make them dairy-free?
Yes, coconut cream (the thick part of coconut milk) can be used in place of the light cream.

This is embarrassing but for the sake of others like me. 😀 I will say it anyway. I didn't see anywhere that this was suppose to be warmed in a pot on the stove. I mixed everything in a bowl on the table hoping to whisk it to a warm mixture. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't more liquified, I definitely couldn't sieve it. I put it in molds anyway after adding more to no avail. I then decided to watch a video on youtube of how to make gummies. I quickly grabbed everything out and dumped to mold contents into a pot and warmed to a liquid consistency. Whew! I think all is well. I did jump right to the recipe, but I didn't see any mention of a stove or pot being used.

Yummy! Easy! I bloomed the gelatin in a cup of the cold water plus the orange juice (3 tbsp) for a few minutes before adding to the hot mixture, which worked well with no clumps as long as you sprinkle the gelatin onto the cold water fairly evenly. I used coconut milk for dairy-free and several droppers of vanilla creme liquid stevia in place of the sweetener and vanilla extract. I used probably 20 drops of Young Living citrus essential oil and added the zest of one orange as well.

I'm making this tomorrow and just wondered how much a scoop is for the Stevia? Can't wait to try it!!
Taryn says
1/32 of a teaspoon
Lori Groeneveld says
If I wanted to add vitamin c powder or baobab. How much would be ok?
Taryn says
I have not tested this with those but I don't think they would impact the gummies setting. I'd try a small amount the first time, maybe 1 tablespoon.

I would love to make these for a friend who is GF, SF, and DAIRY FREE - do you think coconut or almond milk would work? How much So Nourished Monk Fruit Erythritol blend would I use, and would I need to use something in addition to that? Thanks for the amazing recipes you produce!
Taryn says
Coconut milk should work. I'd use full fat canned coconut milk. For a monk fruit sweetener you will need 1.5 to 2 times as much.
Sharon says
Could you use coconut milk instead of cream to make dairy free? Thanks for you Great recipes.
Taryn says
Yes. Enjoy!

I loved these! I just got my silicone molds earlier this week. I got them specifically to make these gummies. They sure fulfill that craving for a chewy candy. Thanks for sharing!
Tara says
YUM! My daughter and I just made these. I just ordered the molds for us and this was our first try at gummies. They aren't even set yet and they're a hit. I'm curious how these do if packed for snacks at school. Probably a morning snack, but have you had any experience with packing them in lunches etc? Any tips or advice?
Taryn says
They should be fine for a school snack as long as they are in a lunch box and it isn't too hot.
Anne says
Where did you get your gummy molds? Thanks!
Taryn says
Most of them are from Amazon.
Mariana says
How this recipe doesn’t have protein?? The gelatin powder us 80% protein.
Taryn says
I just updated the nutrition facts, they do have protein. That was a typo.
Emily says
Would the 6 tbsp gelatin also apply to THM Just Gelatin?
Taryn says
THM Gelatin is not as strong as the Knox brand. Here is a great comparison: http://www.briana-thomas.com/the-great-gelatin-comparison/

Thanks so much!

Can I use regular sugar instead of Stevia, Im not a fan of that stuff?.. and how much should i use?... thanks!
Taryn says
I'm not sure. Sorry. I would look for a gummy recipe that uses regular sugar and then add the orange extract and cream to that.
Stuart says
Hiya,
Just wondering why you use 2 different sweeteners in these?
Cheers
Stu
Taryn says
You can just use one of the sweeteners to your taste. I don't like plain stevia but using it is cheaper than just using gentle sweet.
nancy T says
Did you wrap filled trays in saran?
Taryn says
No, I just pop the gummies out when they are firm and store in a tupperware.

These are so pretty
Jeannie Tongue says
Light cream... would that be like half and half? or?
Taryn says
It is slightly lighter than heavy cream. You can use half and half or heavy cream in this.

Going to try this out soon. I previously tried a recipe that used Jello and the flavor was too artificial and made me feel sick, so I love that you use orange oil, which is the best! I have the lime/lemon/orange set of oils and I love them. Thanks for the recipe!
Lori says
They look beautiful!! How should they be stored?
Taryn says
Hi Lori,
You should keep them in the fridge. They last at least a few weeks.
Thanks for visiting 🙂

I can not wait to try these! They look delicious. I would love to know where you found you molds? I have looked everywhere for some and can't seem to find any. I have checked Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and several other places. Thanks in advance, and I love your recipes!!! Thank you for all the hard work and willingness to share!

I got mine from Amazon. It was about $10 for four. Here is a link to the ones I used in my post 🙂 http://amzn.to/241h8pX
