My fabulous Keto BLT Dip has the flavors of a BLT sandwich in dip form. It can be served warm or cold and is perfect for a summer bbq or party. Or any other time of the year you need keto appetizers. This easy blt dip recipe is also low carb, gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free, and Trim Healthy Mama friendly.
I was browsing Pinterest the other day and saw a photo for a BLT Dip. What the?? Oh yes. I clicked on it and skimmed the ingredients, but it was a hot baked dip, and this time of year, I prefer dips cool or room temp. It gets too hot to eat hot food in the summer. I thought about that dip for the last couple of days and knew I had to make one.
When we are heading to a barbecue or are all spending the evening outdoors, it just makes sense to serve keto appetizers that are cold. This blt dip fits the bill, and we can't keep our hands off of it. You'll understand what I mean when you start munching on it.
Ingredients Needed
One thing that I love about this keto BLT dip is that it makes a large batch. You can typically get 12 servings even if you have a super-hungry group. Let's talk about what you need for this keto dip recipe:
Bacon - Cook the bacon until it's crispy and crumble it. This is for sure the star of the dish, so naturally, you aren't going to want to skip it.
Cream Cheese - To make the dip super rich and creamy, I like to include cream cheese. It's seriously the best!
Mayo - You will need mayo that is keto-friendly to keep the dish low carb, and so it tastes the best.
Sour Cream - I feel like you can never have too much sour cream. It enhances the texture beautifully.
Cheddar Cheese - If possible, shred the cheddar yourself. It is not only going to taste better, but it's also not coated in cellulose like store bought shredded cheese.
Seasonings & Spices - You'll need to use some dried minced garlic, smoked paprika, and a touch of salt for seasonings in blt dip.
Lettuce - Chop up your favorite lettuce for some added crunch and nutrients. Out of all the types of lettuce I think romaine lettuce and iceberg lettuce work best in this.
Tomatoes - I like to include chopped tomatoes just like you would in a traditional blt. You can use full-sized tomatoes like a Roma or go for cherry tomatoes, depending on your preference.
Fresh Veggies - We like to use fresh veggies like bell peppers or celery to scoop the dip.
How To Make Keto BLT Dip
Well, it really doesn't get much easier than this. The complete instructions and ingredient measurements are below the photos in the recipe card.
Step One: Mix together ⅓ of the bacon along with the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, and seasonings in a large bowl. It helps to use a hand mixer to make sure the mixture is smooth.
Step Two: Spread the mixture in a deep-dish pie plate or pie pan and top with lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon. Serve the keto dip with fresh vegetables.
Seasonings
I use onion, garlic, salt, and smoked paprika in the base of my BLT Dip. Garlic powder and dried minced garlic can be used interchangeably.
The smoked paprika is really the secret ingredient. It gives the dip a smoky flavor throughout. I highly recommend investing in some smoked paprika. It is one of my favorite spices, and we use it on chicken and pork all the time. My favorite dry rub, Smoked Paprika Pork Tenderloin Rub, is based on this spice.
Variations
This creamy blt dip is one of our favorite keto appetizers because there are so many ways to customize it!
Spicy - In the mood for a kick of heat? Sprinkle in a few dashes of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce!
Onions - Mix in a few onions for some extra flavor. Red onions or green onions are my go-to's.
Cheese - Try out different kinds of cheese like Pepper Jack or Colby Jack. It's a fun way to change the way it tastes or use up ingredients you already have.
Avocado - For some added creaminess, mix in some chopped avocado to the keto blt dip.
Single-Serve - When hosting a party, add the keto dip to small clear cups for a single-serving option. Guests go wild for this idea!
Pork Belly - Change out the bacon for some air fryer pork belly.

Bacon Crumbles vs Fresh Cooked Bacon
I bought a pound of bacon this morning and cooked it in the oven until crisp. And just because I was curious, I weighed it after cooking.
One pound of fresh bacon cooked down to weigh 5.2 oz. I knew this type of meat cooked down a lot, but that was ridiculous. It was only slightly cheaper per pound than buying real crumbles and so much more work. This was the cheapest bacon found at Walmart (Jonestown brand for $2.50 a lb), and Walmart also sells real crumbled bacon for $8 a lb., a 9 oz bag is $4.99. When using a premium brand of bacon, you will yield more after cooking.
I think in the future, I'm going to save myself the effort and just use the cooked bacon crumbles in recipes. I really can't tell the difference between that and fresh cooked bacon in casseroles, salads, soups, and dips.
When using bacon crumbles, make sure they are real bacon and not fake ones made from soy.
What to dip into Keto Dip
My favorite dippers for BLT Dip are mildly flavored vegetables such as cucumbers and thinly sliced raw zucchini. You can use keto crackers, fathead pita chip dippers, or your favorite low carb tortilla chips. If you want this to be keto-friendly make sure to choose a dipper that is also low in carbohydrates.
Raw peppers, celery, broccoli, and cauliflower work well with keto appetizers and this dip too.

How Far In Advance Can I Make Dip?
This homemade keto dip recipe will actually last in the fridge for up to 4 days. Keep the blt dip covered tightly and cold. The lettuce tends to become a little soggy after the 4-day mark, so it's up to you if you want to store it a little bit longer.

Keto BLT Dip
Ingredients
- 1 lb bacon (cooked until crisp and chopped or 5 oz of bacon crumbles)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- ¼ cup mayo
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular, but the smoked compliments the bacon nicely)
- pinch salt
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- 1 cup chopped tomato (squeeze out the juice after chopping)
- fresh veggies to dip
Instructions
- Combine ⅓ of the bacon with the cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, cheddar, and seasonings. Mix in a deep dish pie plate. Sprinkle on the lettuce, tomato, and the rest of the bacon. Serve with fresh veggies to dip.

Will the lettuce get soggy if this dip is left out too long?

It is fine for 1-2 hours. You shouldn't leave it out much more than that with the cream cheese anyway.

I know it says 12 but when I get my one serving out how much is it? Weight or measurement? I didn't really want to divide it out into 12 containers for my guests who aren't measuring their food. This sounds so good! I have just started a low carb diet and this looks perfect for my birthday this weekend!

I’m sorry I don’t have that information. If you have a kitchen scale you can weigh your dish empty and after making this to find that out the total weight and then divide by 12.

Thank you! This recipe is delicious. I liked it best with celery and fried pork rinds. We put it in a square dish and I ended up making light marks with a butter knife to get a better idea of portion size. It was so delicious that I had more servings than I should have lol.

I'm on a low-carb diet, and my husband and I were invited to an appetizer party tonight. Everyone was supposed to bring an appetizer, and I figured I wouldn't be able to eat most of what was there, so I should bring something I could eat. 😉 While searching around for Keto-friendly appetizers, I found this one. It's scrumptious!! I served it with sliced cucumbers and peppers (red and yellow), as well as tortilla chips for the carb-eaters. It was a hit. Even my kids love it. Definitely making this again. I'm sorry but I don't have that information. If you weigh your serving dish empty and then full you can divide the difference by 12 and have a very accurate serving size.

You can definitely make the base ahead. It's better to put the toppings on right before serving. But you can prep those ahead too and put them in small containers or baggies.

I wouldn't recommend that Mayo as it's made of canola oil ,food starch, maltrodexrin ,sugar, tapioca...etc. So much healthier to make your own. Also I'd like to know what "real bacon bits" from Walmart you used.
